Couple charged after woman is assaulted, shots fired in Northeast EP
Investigators with the police department’s gang unit arrested a couple who allegedly assaulted a woman and discharged a weapon at a Northeast El Paso residence.
Police charged Andy Salazar, 33, with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Fabiola Payan, 29, was charged with a single count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Police responded to a shots fired call at a residence in the 10400 block of Omega Circle just before 9 p.m. on April 25, 2018.

An investigation revealed the victims – a 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman – were confronted by Salazar and Payan.
Police said Payan struck the 35-year-old woman in the head with a bottle. Salazar allegedly fired a gun at the 32-year-old man and threatened the female victim, police added.
Gang Investigators secured warrants for Salazar and Payan. Police, with the help of the SWAT team and the US Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, took the couple into custody on May 16, 2018.
Salazar was booked into the county jail on $200,000 bond. Payan was booked on a $50,000 bond.
