Las Cruces police officer faces drunk driving charge

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- A Las Cruces police officer was arrested over the weekend on drunk driving charges, according to court records reviewed by ABC-7 on Monday.

Officer Stephanie Carbajal's arrest came about 11:30 p.m. Friday when witnesses said they spotted her asleep behind the wheel of her pickup truck, which was stopped at an intersection.

LCPD did not comment on her arrest or her status with the department.
