UT-San Antonio vs. UTEP

Saturday was homecoming night for the UTEP Miners, but the night was spoiled by yet another UTEP loss, this time to Conference USA rival, UT San Antonio.

The final score was 26-16.

In the first half of the game, UTEP just couldn’t get anything going offensively.

A quick three and out on the Miners’ first possession of the game.

Meantime, UT San Antonio wasted no time getting on the boards.

On the Roadrunners’ first possession in the first quarter, quarterback Lowell Narcisse would find paydirt following a 9 yard touchdown run.

UTSA would go up 7-0.

The struggles would continue for the Miners on the offensive side of the ball.

Three 3 and outs for UTEP and quarterback Kai Locksley would get sacked three times in the first half.

But just before halftime, UTEP had a bit of a spark.

The Miners would drive down the field to score their first points of the game courtesy of a 37 yard field goal by UTEP kicker Gavin Baechle.

UTSA would take 10-3 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter of the game, UTSA would score their second touchdown of the game.

Narcisse would connect with Blaze Moorhead on a 18 yard touchdown pass.

UTSA would go up 16-3, 2-point conversion attempt failed for UTSA.

Later in the 3rd quarter, UTEP would finally find the end zone.

UTEP running back Treyvon Hughes would score on a 8 yard touchdown run.

The touchdown would cut UTSA’s lead to 16-10.

In the 4th quarter, UTSA would extend their lead to 19-10, following a field goal.

And with just 4 minutes to go in the game UTSA would find the end zone for a third time after a 51 yard rushing touchdown from UTSA running back Sincere McCormick.

That would put the Roadrunners up 26-10.

UTEP would score another touchdown with less than a minute to go in the game to cut UTSA’S lead to 26-16.

QB Brandon Jones would find Tre Wolf for a 2 yard touchdown pass.

But it wouldn’t be enough, UTEP loses its 4th game in a row.

Miners drop to 1-4 on the season entering a bye week.
