Community Champions: El Paso karate team shines at international competition
EL PASO, Texas -- An El Paso karate team is showing the world just how great students of the sport really are here in the Borderland.
The group is part of the Alchemy Karate Academy, and their instructor is Laco Villanueva.
Back on November 2nd, the team competed at an international competition in Buffalo, New York.
There are 12 members on the team whose ages range from 7 to 15.
Five members of the group won gold medals, and for their accomplishments they are this week's Community Champions, sponsored by Albertsons and the El Paso Community Foundation.
