FBI searches for robber of East El Paso bank

The FBI is searching for the man who robbed a credit union in East El Paso Tuesday morning.

At about 10:40 a.m., a man walked into the Mountain Star Credit Union at 1506 N. Lee Trevino and approached the teller.

He was wearing a black cloth covering his face and displayed a black semi-automatic hand gun.

He then said, “give me all your money lady.”

The teller complied and put an undisclosed amount of money in a blue cloth bag.

He then told her “that’s it,” grabbed the bag and walked out of the bank towards the Taco Bell located in the parking lot and removed the cloth covering.

FBI officials say he then proceeded on foot, south on Lee Trevino.

The bank robber is described as a thin Hispanic male, about 5-foot-7, wearing blue jeans with a grey hoodie with white letters on the front and back and also wearing black and white sneakers.

This case is being investigated by the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force, which includes the El Paso Police Department and El Paso Sheriff’s Department. If anyone was in the vicinity of the bank and/or has information about the robbery, please contact the FBI at 915-832-5000.
