1 new virus death; increase in ICU patients reported in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso Department of Public Health reported one new coronavirus death and a double-digit increase in ICU patients on Monday.

The death toll now stands at 91 in El Paso County.

Health officials reported 77 new cases, bringing the total to 3,454 cases. Nearly 2,300 people have recovered, which leaves 1,072 active cases.

There are 96 patients in the hospital with 64 in the intensive care unit -- an increase of 11 from the day before. There are 34 patients on ventilators.

Free coronavirus testing has been extended in El Paso County until June 12.
