Fire crews get East El Paso house fire under control, roof collapsed

UPDATE: Deputy Chief Rick Carson of the El Paso Fire Department says the call was received just after 1:30 p.m.

Fire crews reported seeing fire coming through the roof over the garage and the response was upgraded to bring additional crews and equipment to get the flames under control.

"About 7 or 8 minutes in, the roof started caving in. We pulled everybody out of the structure, and we set up one of our aerial units to knock the fire down that was in the attic," added Deputy Chief Carson.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire.

One firefighter did report symptoms of heat exhaustion, he was evaluated and treated at the scene, according to Carson.

UPDATE: El Paso Fire crews are checking on hotspots at the house after the fire was extinguished.

No injuries have been reported.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - El Paso Fire crews responded to the 1800 block of Tommy Aaron Drive after a fire.

The fire started about 2 p.m. No injuries have been reported.

Crews continue to put out the fire.
