Bomb threat against Irvin High causes campus evacuation

Update: An El Paso ISD spokesperson provided ABC-7 with the following statement:

"Students and staff at Irvin High School who were evacuated from the campus early Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, due to a non-credible bomb threat safely returned to the campus at approximately 10:50 a.m.

El Paso ISD Police officers actively worked with local law enforcement agencies at Irvin as they jointly investigated the situation. No credible threat was found and El Paso ISD Police escorted students and staff back to the campus. District officers will remain on campus throughout the day out of an abundance of caution.

The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority."

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A spokesperson with the El Paso Independent School District tells ABC-7 that students at Irvin High School were escorted off campus after the school received a bomb threat.

EPISD Police are working with local law enforcement to investigate the threat and review the school for safety threats. Students are waiting in an area near campus for police to search the school.

The school sent out an alert to parents at about 9 a.m.

The district tells ABC-7 that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to students.

ABC-7 is working to learn about where the alleged threat originated.
