Observing Curfew Could Have Spared Teen’s Life

One of the victims in a deadly car crash this past weekend might still be alive today if he was following El Paso’s curfew ordinance.

It happened around 4 a.m. Sunday on Sunland Park Drive, near the New Mexico border. Adrian Navarro, 16and Martin Cano, 18, were killed when Cano lost control of his car and hit a business sign.

Police believe the teens were at a party just before the crash — they had stayed out well after the curfew was in effect.

Officials say they probably won’t file charges against the parents of the underage teen, though, given the tragic outcome of the incident.

Navarro’s family has set-up an account for donations at Wells Fargo.
