El Paso Fire receives FEMA grant for prevention and safety programs

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - FEMA awarded close to $20 million in grants to first responders in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas to fund programs that help fire departments and first responders.

The El Paso Fire Department received more than $109,000 to use towards scientific research and development of programs that help the department strengthen community fire prevention programs, improve safety for fire crews, their health and well-being.

The money comes from FEMA's Fire Prevention and Safety grant program.
