UTEP tips off season with 93-70 victory over New Mexico Highlands
EL PASO, Texas -- The UTEP Miners kicked off their 2019-2020 campaign with a win over New Mexico Highlands on Tuesday night.
The final score was 93-70.
UTEP was in full control of the game from the very beginning.
By halftime, the Miners had a 20 point lead up 44-24.
Against a division 2 school like New Mexico Highlands, the Miners were expected to dominate.
UTEP's Efe Odigie led the way in scoring for the Miners with 18 points.
The Miners begin the season 1-0 under second year head coach, Rodney Terry.
Next up for UTEP, a much tougher opponent in rival New Mexico State.
That game is set for Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Don Haskins Center.
