Protecting your pets, yourself during these triple-digit temps

EL PASO, Texas -- Triple-digit temps in the Borderland means having to plan for your walks to avoid illness or death from heat exhaustion.

The Humane Society of El Paso suggests avoiding walks between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. You should plan your walks for the early morning or evening.

Pets, just like humans, can be affected by extreme heat. The Humane Society joined ABC-7 at Noon to give us more practical tips on what to do to stay safe.
