ABC-7 Listens: 09.05.15
this abc-7 listens. it’s a shame … but in this day and age … we have to constantly be concerned with identity theft. the days of simply “tossing” personal documen have also gone by the wayside. with that in mind … back in june marilyn asked about where to dispose of private paperwork. grab a pen … and grab your paperwork! the sheriff’s office is making it’s incinerator available to the public on saturday, september 12th from 10-1. it’s located at 12-5-0-1 montana … behind the montana patrol station. just keep in mind … you are limited to the amount of paper that would fit into a 30-gallon trash bag. also this summer … we talked about distracted driving … and the need for drivers to educate themselves on the risks. distracted driving could mean … sending that text, surfing the net, changing the radio station or something i see everyday … putting on make-up. in 2013 31-hundred people were killed in crashes involving distracted drivers … and in a 4th of those cases the driver was in his or her 20s. which is why i want to tell you about a new program. it’s called the impact texas teen driver program. it’s a new requirement for driver license applicants who have completed a teen driver education course and it’s the final step before you can take your driving test. it’s 2- hours long and focuses on the dangers of distracted driving. personally i think it’s a course … regardless of your age … we could all benefit from. rick cabrera. abc-7 listens. still to come on
