Joint excercise combines training with allies, Fort Bliss

A 28-day exercise is designed to train the nation’s defenders and allies on how to take care of people and the taxpayers’ money.

More than 500 service members and civilians from the Department of Defense and allied nations, such as the United Kingdom, have been going through special training since March 21.

Other partner nations include Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Panama and Peru.

The first phase began with Warrior Task Training, which was designed to build teamwork and deployment readiness.

Next, those in attendance moved to academics in contract support training, followed by a mock scenario to test their skills.

Whether it is a natural disaster, humanitarian assistance or conflict, contract support is crucial.

The support is in charge of organizing and finding the means for every day necessities, such as fuel, food, water or interpreters.
