A little friendly competition for a good cause
of the borderland came together for a worthy cause today. but it didnt come without a little competion. abc 7’s luke lyddon has more. nats: “dropping shoes into box. one by one– shoe after shoe– organizers filled this box up to the very brim at eastlake high school. nats: “this is about giving, giving back and advocating for kids, and it’s the purpose behind what we do every day as an educator. sisd and cisd staff not only donated more than 200 shoes but went head to head on the hardwood for the warm the soul shoe drive. “it’s pretty sad to see, students walk into school that first day and there is a hole in their shoes, we want to try to help out and help our needy families and benefit our amazing students here at sisd.” while the play on the court wasn’t perfect– nats: everyone could agree on one thing. “we treat our students as if they were our very own children. what would i want for my child? to get to school, to walk in with nice shoes, no holes, first semester, and the entire school year.” win or lose– it wasn’t about the final score. rather the rows of shoes that shows the endless community support. luke lyddon, abc 7 sports. and if you were wondering about the final result– c-i-s-d beat s-i-s-d for the first time ever…51- 38 your final.
