year elke cumming – ywca interim ceo ywca announces sybrina fulton as 2016 women’s luncheon keynote el paso, texas- join the ywca el paso del norte region on april 28, 2016 for the 23rd annual ywca women’s luncheon featuring sybrina fulton. the event will be held at the judson f. williams convention center. now in its 23rd year, the women’s luncheon has become a signature community event. over the years, support for the event has grown and now as many as 2,200 people attend annually. all monies raised help support programs that invest in women and children, strengthen families in transition, build the community, and develop leadership activities in women and girls while helping them reach their full potential. fulton and her family were thrown into the national spotlight in february 2012 when her son trayvon martin was tragically killed. fulton has since dedicated her life to transforming grief into advocacy; lending her voice to speak against violence towards children and the need to build better, safer communities for all. her message not only appeals to people’s hearts as it relates to children, but is also one of hope and change, exemplified by her personal experiences and endeavors. as a mother, she inspires audiences to continuously educate their children about civil rights and to help them feel accepted as part of an ever changing society. about the ywca el paso del norte region the ywca el paso del norte region serves the el paso community by providing transitional housing for homeless women and their children, financial assistance for pre-school and after school care, debt management services, fitness centers and a host of other programs to further improve
