North East group advocates for less violence

paso- residents gathered to walk for cause. about a dozen people showed up for the first ever – walk the block. the group – all lives matter – hosted the event as a way try bring peace to the community. today, members went door to door handing out fliers – advocating for a safer neighborhood. the founder, shawn nixon, says he wants to end violence and drug abuse in the northeast: “we have kids doing drugs entering gangs, we have kids having gang signs up and we want to put a stop to that.” the group is looking to form a neighborhood watch. they will be discussing the idea during their next community meeting. if you would like to go – it is next wednesday – at andress high school – at 6:30 pm.
