Portion of private property cleared by county

is still in shock. where plants and trees used to be she now finds nothing but dirt. this marker shows where her property ends. she says bulldozers took down trees and vegetation 20 to 30 feet past it. the countys flood commission says it’s doing maintenance on the tellbrook arroyo that runs adjacent to her land. the flood commission director says they used aerial photos and misjudged the property line. he admits they didn’t follow procedure and give residents warning about the project. he says they were in a rush to get things done before monsoon season. worley says she fears the barren land will lead to flooding and extra dirt in the air. she’s also unhappy that years of plant growth, and the shelter it provided small animals, is now gone. linda worley: “i want it clea that they’re never ever going to trespass on our property or anyone else’s property like this. and i think they need to revisit their whole approach to cleaning out and maintaing these dams i think they have to do that of course we support that b they need to do it in a way that’s the least intrusive and the lease damaging not only to property owners but to the environment there.” pau dugie: “we typically do g through the survey check and that for some reason that was skipped on this it is why we are where we are today and i apologize for skipping those steps it was not intentional the county now has to pay to fix the problem. they say erosion control will be out there as soon as possible, but couldn’t specify other repairs it will make. worley says she doesn’t believe things will ever go back to normal. nmmn jw abc7 a political transformation.
