FBI raids Anthony home, makes weapons arrest stemming from Jan. 6 probe

ANTHONY, New Mexico -- An FBI raid Monday morning at a home in Anthony was connected to a criminal probe involving the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, according to sources close to the investigation.

That raid happened around 6:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Luisa Street, where FBI agents could be seen roaming the street along with a large military-style vehicle.

Neighborhood residents told ABC-7 that they heard several loud bangs and a voice on a loudspeaker telling those inside the home to come out with their hands up.

One of the men inside the house was taken into custody by agents on charges he violated federal firearms laws.

The agency declined to offer further details on the investigation and referred questions to the U.S. Attorney's Office, which didn't immediately return calls seeking comment.
