Juárez has 104 of Chihuahua state’s 125 virus deaths

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico -- The number of people who have died as a result of the coronavirus jumped to 125 in the state of Chihuahua on Wednesday, and health officials said the leading contributor to that count was Juárez with 104 fatalities.

Juarez was up seven deaths from the 97 it had reported the day prior.

The majority of virus deaths throughout Chihuahua State to date have not been among the vulnerable elderly popularization; those under the age of 65 accounted for 96 of the state's 125 deaths.

The Chihuahua Health Secretariat said Juarez had also accumulated 63% of all virus infections in the state with 433 of the 684 confirmed cases.

Officials indicated 204 of those cases had resulted in people being hospitalized, with 144 being in Juarez. Of the hospitalized patients, 125 were listed in serious condition on Wednesday while just 79 were considered stabilized.

Across all of Mexico on Wednesday, there were 26,025 confirmed cases with 2,507 deaths reported.
