Congressman opening new district office in Socorro
SOCORRO, Texas (KVIA) -- Representative Tony Gonzales will open a new district office in Socorro Wednesday.
His office tells ABC-7 that community leaders and elected officials are expected to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at noon May 3. The new office is at the historic Casa Ortiz, located at 10167 Socorro Road, in the heart of the Historic Mission Trail.
The Fabens High School Mariachi Band and the Tribal Youth Dancers will perform. Congressman Gonzales will speak, too.
Gonzales hopes his new district office will allow him to strengthen his ties to the Lower Valley and El Paso County. Gonzales's district extends all the way from eastern El Paso County to San Antonio.
