When I was asked a few months ago if I wanted to participate in ‘Dancing for Kids’ Sake,’ I didn’t hesitateto sayyes! Not only would I be able to help raise funds for a worthy, local organization, but I would also have the opportunity to learn a type of dance I’ve never done before. I have a dancing background, but this is completely different from ballet, jazz, hip-hop and anything else I’ve ever done.

The experience so far has been incredible. Our instructor at El Paso Ballroom, Joanie Garcia, is the coolest, cutest, classiest person anyone could ask for. Dancing with Ken Molestina hasalso been so muchfun. We were already pretty good friends, but this has definitely created a stronger bond in our frienship, although, he may see it a bit differently as he has given me the nickname of “little dancing tyrant”. Hahahaha.

I know it’s all in good fun and I’m thankful to have him with his Cuban rhythm as my partner. The bottom line, though, is that we’re not only here to compete artistically, but more importantly, we’re in this to raise funds to support our local Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Their mentorship programs are truly amazing and help so many children grow, improve self-esteem and look to a better, brighter future. Ken and I are literally putting our best foot forward to help this cause. Won’t you help us too by donating to our site and helping us achieve our goal?
