Special Forces Soldier From EP Killed In Afghanistan
EL PASO — A Sun City native serving with the U.S. Army’s Special Forces was killed after an Improvised Explosion Device (IED) detonated in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense (DOD).
The soldier was identified as Staff Sgt. Joshua M. Mills, 24, of El Paso, TX.Mills is survived by his wife Magen and son Malaki, both of Raeford, N.C.; and his parents Tommy and Celeste Mills of El Paso.
According to DOD officials,Mills and two other soldierswere supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They died Sept. 16 in Helmand province as a result of wounds suffered wheninsurgents attacked their vehicle Sept. 15.
All three wereassigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, inFort Bragg, N.C.
