Tim Besco, Republican Candidate For U.S. Rep. Dist. 16
Tim Besco, is the Republican candidate for U.S. Representative Dist. 16. His Website is www.letsgobesco.com/.
About: Tim Besco grew up in Detroit, MI during the 1970?s and 80?s. The city changed drastically in those years. His neighborhood was one of the many that were vacated during “White flight”. Shopping centers were dying off as businesses closed down to move to the suburbs.
Tim BescoBoth of Tim’s parents cared a lot about their community and were very active as “block captains” in their neighborhood. Tim participated with them often in several activities and learned the importance of keeping the community vitalized.
Service to his country has always been important to Tim. He joined the Air Force in 1986 and went on to be stationed in Korea and South Dakota before returning to Michigan after being honorably discharged. After September 11th, Tim joined the Navy as a Nurse Corps officer, and was deployed twice for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and 2004.
Now, as a civilian Registered Nurse, it is his job to care for and listen to his patients. Tim has been in nursing for 10 years. He has held the hands of the dying, given mothers their newborn babies for the first time, and has loved every minute of it.
His family has followed him around the world while he was on active duty (Korea, South Dakota, Virginia, Italy). They have lived in the Borderland region mostly since he chose to leave the Navy. They love El Paso, and all there is to see and do here. Formal Education
Tim went to high school (University of Detroit Jesuit High School) in Detroit. The priests and faculty there gave him a solid moral base that he has built upon.
He started college at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD as a Communications / Journalism major. He worked at the campus radio station as the Sports Director and doing play-by-play for both their basketball and football games.
After starting a family, Tim went back to college – first in community college, and then as a Nursing major at University of Detroit Mercy where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Family
Tim has been married 22 years and has three daughters. His wife has been a blessing to him all these years. Their oldest girl is also married and is serving in the Navy as a Corpsman (medic). Their second daughter is attending college at Texas Tech in Lubbock, and their youngest is a straight “A” student in high school right here in El Paso. Overview
Tim may be new to politics?but he is not new to the issues. He thinks that it is time to look “outside the box” for a change. There are many problems in Washington. Tim doesn’t just want to be a part of the solution, he wants to lead the way to end the reign of the lazy, corrupt, and morally-bankrupt politicians that have taken over our government. Tim looks forward to being your Congressman – someone you can count on to carry your voice to the hallowed halls of Washington.
