Police: Woman Takes Car, Drives Intoxicated

A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after reportedly slamming into several parked vehicles with a car she wasn’t supposed to be driving.

Valerie Vega, 26, has been also charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

El Paso police officials said officers were called to an apartment complex in the 9400 block of Diana Drive in northeast El Paso at about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators said Vega had taken a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant that did not belong to her without the owner’s permission and crashed into four cars in the apartment complex parking lot. Vega then allegedly took off.

According to authorities, officers found Vega not far from the apartment complex. She was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $2,000.
