el paso, las cruces, and juarez. i’m bob harp. and i’m hillary floren. good morning, everyone. a live look at a portion of u-s 54 was closed down very early this morning after a rollover wreck involving two vehicles. the wreck happened at about one this morning on the north-bound lanes of the patriot freeway. police say two cars collided and rolled over under the cassidy gate bridge. one of the vehicles hit a traffic pole, causing it to fall onto the middle of the roadway. police have cleared out the scene this morning. one person was taken to william beaumont to william beaumont army medical center with non-life threatning injuries.// a home in the lower valley goes up in flames next to an elementary school. investigators are looking into wether arson was the cause. the fire happened last night on the 200 block of barker at about 8 p-m. fire officials say the home was vacant, but was right next to cedar grove elememtary. witnesses reported seeing heavy smoke and flames coming out of the house and it did take the 45 firefighters that responded to the scene about 20 minutes to put it out. there is still no word on the cause of the fire, but investigators are not ruling out arson. neighbors tell abc-7 suspicious people always go in and out of the house.// there’s more disturbing details about the high school dance teacher accused of having and taping child pornography. 34-year-old marco alferez has been char charged with five federal counts of child pornography. we got our hands on the indictment and it states eight different cameras were found in alferez’s possession. …including a web camera …two mini pin hole cameras about the size of a dime … … and a mini spy camera. also more than 100 video tapes; some labelled … …”old uppies” … …”voyeur”… …”new uppies with female names”… …and rehearsal upskirt.” the government is also a demanding everything inside alferez’s westside home, his car and earnings of almost 250- thousand dollars. he made that money working at schools in the el paso and ysleta districts. alferez was fired from e-p-i-s-d earli from e-p-i-s-d earlier this month. he did not appeal his termination. he was also the head choreographer for “viva el paso” but officials say they had no plans to bring him back even before the allegations surfaced. loved ones of slain u-s guardsman jose gil hernandez paid their last respects their last respects last night. a rosary was held for hernandez at the mission neral home in central el paso. our camera was not allowed inside, but we saw many people in uniform coming in to participate in the rosary. the 22-year old was shot and killed in juarez last week. the national guard says he was not on active duty and therefore he was not banned from going into mexico. a 43-year old man was also killed in the attack.// new information on this weekend’s massacre at a birthday party in juarez. police say they found the bodies of two men they suspect were behind the killings. the bodies were found inside an s-u-v–with their hands and feet tied together. one of the men had been decapitated. a sign that was left with the bodies accused them of killing woman and children. investigators believe the two men were in involved in friday’s massacre that claimed the lives of 14 people — including 6 women and girls. a survivor told police that a gunman — in his 20’s —opened fire when nobody would answer questions about a car parked outside the house. investigators say a man known as “el raton” or or “the mouse” was the intended target! he survived the attack, but has not been located.// a student at jefferson high school walked into university medical center after he was stabbed on campus. e-p-i-s-d officials say the 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest and arm by a 19-year-old man who was not a student. the man allegedly walked on campus and picked a fight with several students. he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. the teen is recovering. we’re told his wounds were minor.// unacceptable and preventable. dona ana county commissioners passed a resolution against bullying, saying it’s a starting point to stoppingt once and for all. the resolution comes as more and more stories of teens being bullied over their race, ethnic, or sexual orientation are being reported. in the past few weeks, there’s been at least five gay teen suicides across the country. the depa the department of education has new guidelines now that classify bullying as a federal crime. commissioners say talking about bullying is the first step to restoring confidence in gay teens that life does get better when the bullying is left behind.// to an update now on a story we brought you back in march. if you have an electric car or are hoping to buy one – this is good news for you!
