Saturday Openings, Closures and Cancelations

The University of Texas at El Paso will open on Saturday, February 5, for regularly schedule Saturday academic classes only.

P3 Continuing Education classes are canceled.

According to university officials, as part of a regional energy conservation effort, all classes taught on Saturday, Feb. 5, will be moved to three campus building locations: Biological Sciences Building, the College of Education and the College of Liberal Arts.

Faculty and students are encouraged to check the building and room location changes link to see where their classes will be held for Saturday, Feb. 5.

Other university buildings will remain closed with temperatures lowered to reduce natural gas demand.

The university plans to resume normal operating hours on Monday, Feb. 7.

The following institutions will be open Saturday:

Memorial Pool

Pat O’Rourke Pool

Delta Pool

Theraputic and Instructional Pool

All recreational centers will operate during regular hours

All libraries (except Armijo branch)

Dona Ana County adoption event at Pet’s Barn (Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

The following institutions will be closed/canceled Saturday:

El Paso Community College

El Paso Zoo

Armijo branch library

Dona Ana County Community College

Dona Ana County adoption event at the Farmers’ Market (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.)

All Horizon City Youth Association basketball games scheduled at Ensor Middle School

EPISD IB essay writing test

EPISD’s Solo & Ensemble Contest at Franklin High School

Christ the Savior Catholic Church confirmation students retreat, Saturday and all weekend classes both Saturday and Sunday
