Arrest Made In East El Paso Stabbing Deaths Of Mother, Daughter

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in the double homicide, stabbing deaths of a mother and daughter.

Christian Alberto Martinez, of the 2000 block of Suntide, said Martinez entered a home ini the 11500 block of Pratt on Jan. 28, 2011 and stabbed Amalia Flores, 58, and her daughter, Jovana Flores, 20.

The mother and daughter attempted to defend themselves however they were ultimately killed inside their home, police said.

The investigation has also not shown any relationship between Martinez and the victims.

After allegedly killing the victims, Martinez is believed to have rummaged through the home, police said. Martinez was found inside the home with a serious laceration to his left wrist that required hospitalization.

Martinez was treated at a local hospital while in police custody since the date of the incident. After his release from the hospital on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 Martinez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a charge of Capital Murder. He was booked with No Bond.
