David Rodriguez to take on new opponent Friday

At the last minute, Ty Cobb (12-2, 8 KOs) has pulled out of Friday?s fight in El Paso, Texas, against David Rodriguez, claiming a shoulder injury. According to promoter Zeferino Ramirez ?I believe that as the fight approached, Cobb was feeling the heat, and not wanting to have another loss on his record, he pulled out. I cannot express my frustration and disappointment by him doing this, with only one week before fight night.?

Instead of Cobb, Rodriguez (33-0, 31 KOs) will now be facing Las Vegas? Matt Hicks (13-5, 12 KOs). Promoter Ramirez says ?I feel that Hicks will be a good match against David. Hicks have notable fights against the likes of Lou Savarese and BJ Flores. Hicks comes with all he has and leaves it all in the ring. Hick?s will be ready, but so will David.?
