Plumbing Permit Fee Waived For 90 Days

The City of El Paso on Tuesday waived the plumbing permit fee for 90 days for residential work/repairs, setting the fee at zero dollars instead of the usual $72.

Those who paid a plumbing permit fee to have their plumbing repaired before El Paso City Council waived the fee on Tuesday, Feb. 15, will not get a refund.

It also has created satellite offices that will be open starting Wednesday.

The locations of the satellite offices are:

The Municipal Service Center, 7968 San Paulo. The Northwest Municipal Service Center, 4096 Doniphan. Richard Burges Library, 9600 Dyer.

Permits must be obtained and inspections must be performed and recorded for the following major plumbing repair work:

– Backflow preventers of any type, including residential irrigation. – All water heater replacement. – Any repairs to the main supply line for the residence from the meter to the point the line enters the house. – Repair and replacement to water heaters

Permits can be obtained by any plumber with a Texas State Plumbers License and who is bonded and insured with the City of El Paso, or any homeowner performing repair work on their homestead.

Repairs can be done without permits for “Minor Repairs” are as follows:

– Indoor Water Lines – Indoor Sewer Lines – Replacement and repair of Indoor Plumbing Fixtures
