Sugar Detox: Day 4
Day 4: Hopefully the worst is over … right?
I could barely drag myself out of bed at 4 a.m. Sunday to go to work.
We all have those days, and I’m sure it was due to my lack of sleep rather than my new eating habits.
On days when I have trouble waking up, I will lay in bed and decide what food I am going to get on my way to work to bribe myself to get up. Normally, it’s McDonald’s pancakes and sausage with a hot gooey cinnamon roll.
Good heavens that sounds delicious. I really need to stop talking about food in my blog late at night, it only makes my cravings worse.
Speaking of cravings, the Food Network is a horrible thing to watch when you’re trying to eat a more healthful diet.
Don’t do it.
I watched a show about cakes on that delicious channel and I had to spend three hours cleaning as a distraction just so that I wouldn’t bake my own spongy delicious pan of triple-chocolaty goodness. With my old habits, that cake would have been gone in three days.
Three days of bliss.
Speaking of bliss, do you know what is the opposite of bliss? Withdrawal headaches. My day four tip is for those of you who were brave enough to start your own detox: After day two, carry some sort of pain-relieving pills at all times.
I wonder how long they will last.
