Affidavit: Clint Couple Kidnapped Co-Worker With Plans To Sexually Assault And Kill Her
A woman arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 19-year-old woman has confessed to authorities that she and her fiancee kidnapped their co-worker with plans to sexually assault her and then kill her, according to an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office complaint affidavit.
The Clint, Texas couple are accused by authorities of aggravated kidnapping.
The complaint affidavit, obtained by the ABC-7 I-Team, states that during interrogation, Jennifer Lavelle Smith, 19, confessed to the crime, saying she and Abel Gil, 28, planned to keep the victim for a month, sexually assault her, and then kill her.
The couple allegedly kidnapped their co-worker from at 10 p.m. on February 18 at the grocery store in nearby Fabens where all three worked.
According to the complaint affidavit, the victim was bound, gagged, and tied up at Smith’s home. The victim was allegedly threatened with serious bodily harm and terrorized. Documents state she was kept in a closet until she managed to escape Saturday morning, and notify authorities.
The alleged victim was able to escape at about 9:25 a.m. Feb. 19 and contacted authorities.
Gil and Smith were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $155,000 bond each.
