El Paso Police: Man With Various Illegal Drugs, Metal Knuckles Arrested After Crossing Street Illegally
A 22-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday with various illegal drugs and metal knuckles after he crossed a street illegally, according to El Paso Police.
Police say Emmanuel Ruvalcaba, of the 11700 block of John Polly Circle in El Paso, also evaded arrest and had several municipal warrants.
An officer watched as Ruvalcaba walked against a traffic signal east on Cincinnati Street at 12:39 a.m. Wednesday and when the officer identified himself to Ruvalcaba, Ruvalcaba allegedly fled from the officer on foot. He was caught after a brief foot chase in the alley behind the 200 block of Cincinnati.
Ruvalcaba told the officer that he had warrants and that was the reason he ran. A search of Ruvalcaba revealed that he had four clear plastic baggies containing marijuana, nine ecstasy pills, eight grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms), and a pair of metal knuckles, police said.
He was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance over 1 gram – under 4 grams (Ecstasy), Possession of Controlled Substance over 4 grams – under 400 grams (Psilocybin), Prohibited Weapon (metal knuckles), Evading Arrest, and three outstanding municipal warrants. He was booked on bonds totaling $17,148.33.
