Day four of Leeds, Caballero trial

Day four of the contempt of court trial of Stuart Leeds and Theresa Caballero had more witnesses being called to testify on behalf of Leeds and Caballero.

On the stand on Thursday was Leonard Morales, an El Paso attorney.

Morales said he has known Leeds for about 10 years. He said he watched the nepotism and bribery trial of Judge Regina Arditti in 2011 and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

When asked if he ever heard Caballero or Leeds yell at the presiding judge in that case, Morales said no.

The prosecution had no questions for Morales.

Leeds and Caballero face a combined 18 counts of contempt, each carrying the potential for up to six months in jail and a fine.

The charges stem from the 2011 bribery trial of 448th District Court judge Arditti in which the law partners were able to get her acquitted.
