Hotel Clerk Shot

A Las Cruces hotel clerk is recovering after police say he was shot by robbers.

The incident happened early Saturday morning at the Econolodge hotel on the 2500 block of South Valley Dr. Police say the robbers forced the clerk into the hotel’s back office and shot him in the leg. They say the men took cash and ran off.

Both suspects are believed to be Hispanic and in their 20s.

The 24-year-old clerk was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso.

Police are offering a thousand-dollar reward for information on the two suspects.
