Man arrested after stabbing incident in West El Paso apartment complex parking lot

El Paso Police have arrested a 42-year-old man who allegedly stabbed two men Saturday night during a fight in a West Side apartment complex parking lot.

Police officials say they found Juan Cedillo, of the 5200 block of Carousel, hiding under a bed inside an apartment after he allegedly attacked two men with a knife in a parking lot.

Police were sent to the the apartment complex at about 7:02 p.m. Where they found the two men who had been stabbed.

Jose Guadarrama, 21, told police he saw Cedillo, whom he thought looked drunk, trying to move a vehicle in the parking lot.

Guadarrama approached the vehicle and told Cedillo that he would help him park the vehicle since he thought it appeared Cedillo was drunk and almost struck other parked vehicles.

Guadarrama then reached into the vehicle and turned the ignition off and removed the keys.

After this occurred, Cedillo got out of the truck and ran into his apartment and came back with a knife and confronted Guadarrama in the parking lot, according to police.

Cedillo then allegedly lunged at Guadarrama and stabbed him in the right arm. As this was occurring, 24-year-old Alonzo Suarez what what just happened and grabbed Cedillo in what was described as a “bear hug.”

Cedillo then allegedly thrust the knife towards Suarez which resulted in Suarez being cut on the face, near his right eye.

Officers were approached by a resident who advised that Cedillo was possibly hiding inside of an apartment at which time the officers went to the reported apartment and found Cedillo hiding under a bed.

Cedillo was placed under arrest without incident.

Officers also learned that Cedillo had two outstanding warrants from 2009 with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Those warrants were for Assault Family Violence and Interference with an Emergency Call.

Cedillo has been booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on those charges as well as two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon which resulted from the double stabbing he had just committed. His bonds total $110,000.
