Club 101 closes Downtown location after 1 year; club will relocate
A little over a year after moving back to Downtown El Paso, Club 101 has closed its doors.
“Club 101 would like to thank everyone for 25 years of support!” Club 101 posted Friday on its Facebook page. “Due to circumstances beyond our control, our downtown location is closed. Stay tuned for upcoming news on our new location!!”
Earlier in the week the club had advertised an event for today, Sept. 4 at the club.
Club 101 moved out of its original Downtown location in 2004. It relocated to North Mesa near UTEP, Airway, and then Viscount before returning to Downtown in July 2014.
The club has been known for bringing in up-and-coming and big-name acts such as Gin Blossoms and Marilyn Manson in the ‘90s. It also was well-known for its Saturday Retro Nights.
