El Paso musician will have piece played during papal Mass

piece will be performed during the pal mass at the world meeting of families. today – evan folan sat down with the musician to discuss the honor. evan joins us live to tell us more about this talented composer. music has been a big part of peter kolar’s life. growing up, his family played in a folka band and on sundays he would play the piano during mass. kolar says tomorrow could be the biggest day in his musical career. peter kolar is a devout catholic and a talented musician sot :”going to church was part of our upbringing and so was music so it just seemed natural that the two would combine” when he is not running around with his wife and two daughters – or working as a senior editor for the world library publications – he finds peace behind the piano. sot: “just to sit behind the piano and let the music flow is both creative and prayerful.” although very humble he admits that several of his original pieces have been published… “a the pope reminds us there is no aspect of elevating ourselves – all we can do is be transparent in our ministry.” a couple weeks ago h got news that one of his original pieces will be played during the papal mass at the world meeting of families sot: “while the pope is breaking the bread while he has the bread in his hand the host the consecrated host we will be singing my piece um lamb of god you take away the sins of the world. ” although staying grounded.. his eyes and smile show his excitement. ” so to have my piece that is the musical vehicle of that prayer is pretty tremendous” kolar is very excited for tomorrow and he tells me his entire family will join him to watch! estela? we’re giving you all the high points of the pope’s visit to the united states … as he continues his historic
