Arrest warrant issued for wife of convicted former CBP supervisor
Senior U.S. District Judge David Briones has revoked bond and issued an arrest warrant for Odet Madrid, the wife of the former Customs and Border Protection Supervisor convicted of smuggling undocumented immigrants into the U.S.
Odet Madrid, the wife of 55-year-old Lawrence Madrid, received adequate notice, but allegedly failed to appear for jury selection and trial, as required by the conditions of her bond.
Last week, a jury convicted the husband on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Alien Smuggling for Financial Gain, Aiding and Abetting Alien Smuggling for Financial Gain, and two counts of Accepting a Bribe.
Odet Madrid allegedly participated in the scheme. She is charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Alien Smuggling for Financial Gain and Alien smuggling for Financial Gain.
