LC woman accused of using stolen credit cards at Walmart
Police arrested a woman for allegedly stealing a pair of credit cards and attempting to purchase several hundred dollars worth of merchandise at the Walmart on Walton Blvd.
Jennifer Robinette, 30, is charged with six, fourth-degree felonies: two counts of credit card theft, two counts of conspiracy, one count of fraudulent use of a credit card, and one count of identity theft.
According to Las Cruces Police, a couple on Del Rey Boulevard in Las Cruces reported several credit cards and ID’s were stolen from their vehicle on Sunday, June 26th. The couple cancelled their credit cards upon learning of the theft.
Las Cruces police were called to Walmart shortly after 3 P.M. Sunday. Robinette and an unidentified man attempted to purchase $934.26 worth of merchandise using two credit cards. When the Walmart cashier asked for identification, Robinette allegedly used a stolen ID that did not resemble her.
After both credit cards were declined, Robinette and the unidentified man left the store. Robinette was taken into custody, but the male suspect fled the area.
Robinette is being held in the Dona Ana County Detention Center without bond.
