Chihuahuas fall to Reno 15-12 as teams combine for 31 hits

RENO, Nev. – The El Paso Chihuahuas had an early eight-run comeback but eventually lost to the Reno Aces 15-12Tuesdayafternoon at Greater Nevada Field. El Paso trailed 8-0 at the end of the second inning and led 9-8 by the top of the fifth. It was the first eight-run comeback in Chihuahuas’ history.

Austin Hedges went 3-for-6 with two home runs and four RBIs. Hedges now has a career-high 11 homers this season and has hit seven in his last seven games. Five different Chihuahuas had multi-hit games in the loss. Jabari Blash went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, his second longball in as many games.

The two teams combined for 31 hits. Chihuahuas’ relievers Derek Eitel and Buddy Baumann each tossed scoreless outingsTuesday. El Paso won three of the five games in the series and has won six of its last nine games.

The Chihuahuas do not play onWednesday.
