Free flu vaccinations in El Paso on Tuesday

The El Paso Fire Department has teamed up with the El Paso Health Department to provide free medical services like free influenza and pneumonia vaccines.

It’s all part of the program Vaccinations for Health.

The program also provides free blood pressure and glucose screenings and colorectal screening kits.

On Tuesday, June 28, residents can go to the fire station located at 12950 R.C. Poe Road from 1 to 4 p.m to get the free services.

“This flu season started later than usual, but with lots of momentum and severity,” says Robert Resendes, Health Department director. “As such, it’s still both prudent and timely to be immunized against this flu season’s viruses. This season’s vaccine has proven to be effective against the predominant strains.”

The service is free for residents of El Paso County and Hudspeth County. You must be 18 and over and do not have medical insurance or are on Medicaid.

The goal of the program is to increase the wellness of those in the community who do not have access to these services.

For more information, residents are encouraged to call 311 or visit www.ephealth.com.
