El Paso Zoo’s extended evening hours in effect third Saturday of every month

Summer is here and the El Paso Zoo is encouraging Borderland residents to visit the zoo in the evening.

The zoo holds its first “After-Howlers” of the summer season July 16, 2016. “After-howler” hours – 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. – will be in effect the third Saturday of every month until the end of August.

The last entry into the zoo on those evenings is at 7 p.m.

Karla Martinez, with the El Paso Zoo, said “after-howlers” allows families to enjoy the zoo in the evening during the hot summer months.

“You can come feed the giraffes at night, play at the playground in the splash pad – just come enjoy the zoo after hours when it’s a little cooler,” Martinez said.
