Mexican Consulate donates $45K to Project Vida Health Center

The Mexican consulate of El Paso donated $45,000 to the Project Vida Health Center on Wednesday.

The donation, received by Project Vida CEO William Schlesinger, will be used to pay the salary of “Ventanilla de Salud” staff. Project Vida collaborates with the program.

“Ventanilla de Salud” – a window of health – offers health services to the Hispanic community in the United States and is financed by the Mexican government.

More than 18 thousand people were attended by “Ventanilla de Salud” in 2015.

Project Vida has seven clinics and two dental clinics in the El Paso and Hudspeth county, Schlesinger said.

Patients are charged according to their income and all health insurances are accepted.

The primary care program provides the following: physical exams, diagnosis and treatment, family planning, HIV testing, behavioral health work, substance abuse, recovery programs, family services, pediatrics, care in diabetes, asthma, and obesity.

They have been located in central El Paso for 25 years.
