Pascal Siakam scores 12 in debut for Toronto Raptors
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Pascal Siakam’s career with the Toronto Raptors got off to a positive start Friday night in a summer league game against Sacramento until injury cut his night short.
The reigning WAC Player of the Year winner recorded 12 points to go along with two rebounds and a steal in only 15 minutes of action, as the Raptors crushed the Kings 88-47.
Siakam scored two quick buckets in the opening minutes of the game off sharp passes from teammate Delon Wright.
The Cameroon native only saw time in the first half after it was reported he may have sprained his left knee. However, officials said keeping him out of the game was only a precautionary measure.
No word yet on if Siakam will play in the team’s next game Sunday against the Timberwolves.
The Raptors selected Siakam with the 27th overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. Siakam became the first player from NMSU picked since Randy Brown was chosen in 1991.
