UTEP football training camp begins in Ruidoso
The UTEP Miners are hopeful this season will be the year to reach another bowl game since 2014.
But in able to attain that goal, it all starts in training camp. Not to mention, the Miners will be fully healthy headed into the regular season with star running back Aaron Jones at the helm.
The Miners alongside Head Coach Sean Kugler, held it’s first day of training camp in Ruidoso near The Lodge at Sierra Blanca.
“It’s exciting to be back,” Jones said. “I mean I only played two games last year and had to watch, so I am excited to be back out here with my guys, my family.”
Head Coach Sean Kugler said he has no clear indication of who will be starting under center come Sept. 3 against NMSU.
“That’s going to be a long process,” Kugler said. “That’d be like looking into the first week of pregnancy and saying what do you got? And you just don’t know.”
All pieces of the team are far from ready for the home opener, but the Miners will have an additional 4 weeks to prepare.
