Missing Las Cruces girl found in Albuquerque with biological mother
A 6-year-old Las Cruces girl who was reported missing has been found, said Las Cruces Police.
Brooklyn Brannan was first reported missing around 3 p.m. Wednesday. Police said she was in the company of her biological mother, Danille Wilson, 25, who does not have primary custody of the girl. The two were last seen Tuesday afternoon at Wilson’s mother’s home in Las Cruces.
Wilson resides in Colorado Springs, CO.
Within 3 hours, police reported they found Brooklyn and her mother in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The girl is said to be in good condition.
Investigators learned that Wilson drove to Las Cruces and asked her estranged husband, Brooklyn’s father and legal guardian, for permission to visit with their daughter. Wilson took Brooklyn, ostensibly to a movie and dinner, but later contacted the girl’s father and indicated that he would never see Brooklyn again.
Police were also hoping to speak with 54-year-old Adrienne A. Johnson, Wilson’s mother. Police believed Johnson had information on where Wilson was.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
