Late night mountain rescue ends with no injuries

A woman had to be rescued off the Franklin mountains Saturday night after getting lost on a biking trail. It happened around 10 p.m. near Chuck Heinrick Park on the 11000 block of Officer Andrew Barcena Drive in northeast El Paso.

A spokesman with the El Paso Fire Department said the woman’s friend called 911. When emergency crews arrived they could not see a light the woman was flashing to try and direct them to her location. As a result, a combined Search and Rescue team was called to the scene.

Crews were able to find the 28-year-old woman around 11:30 p.m. The woman and crews got off the mountain shortly after midnight. ABC-7 is told there were no injuries.
