Two arrested in shooting death of Los Bandidos president

El Paso Police have charged a man with murder in the shooting death of the El Paso Los Bandidos president at an east El Paso bar, announced EPPD Friday evening. The arrest coming the same night a rosary was held for the slain president.

Police said 34-year old Javier Gonzalez was initially arrested and charged with assault. As a result of the victim’s death, EPPD said Gonzalez was rebooked at the County Jail Friday and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (E.I.O.C.A.) – Murder.

His bond was set at $1,000,000.00.

El Paso police were backed up by Texas State Troopers, FBI agents and U.S. Deputy Marshals when arresting Gonzalez in San Elizario earlier this month. Gonzalez is reportedly a member of the Kinfolk outlaw motorcycle gang.

On Thursday, Police said U.S. Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested 58-year old Manuel Gallegos on an outstanding warrant for E.I.O.C.A – Assault that had been issued for his role in the shooting.

Gallegos was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on $70,000.00 bond late Thursday, according to EPPD.

The shooting happened the night of July 30 at Mulligan’s Chopped Hog Bar located on George Dieter in east El Paso.

Police said a fight involving two groups broke out inside the bar. One of the groups was asked to leave. Gonzalez later returned to the bar and allegedly shot the victims. Earliert this month, a detective with EPPD said the shooting is suspected to be gang related and the shooter was believed to be targeting the victims.

Police identified the victims as 61-year-old Juan Martinez, 49-year-old Ballardo Salcido, 36-year-old Juan Miguel Vega-Rivera and 47-year-old David Villalobos.

Martinez died August 3 from his injuries related to the shooting.

Funeral arrangements for the slain El Paso Bandidos president have been set.

Members of the Bandidos motorcycle club sent ABC-7 the itinerary for Martinez’s rosary, visitation and funeral.

A rosary and vigil for Martinez was held for Friday evening at St. Francis Xavier Mother Cabrini Catholic church at 12200 Vista Del Sol Drive.

The funeral mass and interment are scheduled for Saturday, August 12.

The mass begins at 10 a.m. at St.Mark’s Catholic Church located at 11700 Pebble Hills.

Services will be followed by interment at Evergreen East Cemetery located at 12400 East Montana.

A wake for Martinez will be held at Best Western Plus located at 6655 Gateway West following the burial.
