Animal Services offering free adoptions Saturday with “Clear the Shelters” event
On Saturday, August 19, 2017, the Department of Animal Services will take part in the national “Clear the Shelters” adoption campaign by waiving adoptions fees for all its shelter pets.
Shelter pets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Animal Services is committed to saving as many lives as possible by clearing its kennels through reduced-fee adoptions. Though fees will be waived, donations of toys, food, and kennels are welcomed.
During the last free adoption event, Animal Services adopted out 218 pets during the one-day event, shattering the department’s previous single-day adoption record. The staff at Animal Services is looking to continue that success by setting a new adoption record this Saturday.
